A contingent of nine Native’s club members competed at the 2026 Wondai Prize Meeting over the weekend with lots of trophies and medallions to show for their efforts.
In the Friday sweepstakes over 500 yards, Megan Davern in S-PC shot a faultless 50.10 possible while Oliver Ploch in S-PCO come up with a great 50.8
The two days of the Prize Meeting was shot under sunny skies but with challenging frontal fishtail winds which meant all good scores were hard won.
On Saturday over 500 and 600 yards, Natives won four of the Divisions – Karen Heald (TR-B), Ivor Davidson (FSA), Brad Ruthven (FO) and Oliver Ploch (S-PCO).
Sunday was shot over 700 and 800 yards and saw Megan Davern win S-PC while Ivor Davidson came second in FSA and Oliver Ploch was 3rd in FO.
The Grand Aggregate in S-PC was won by Megan Davern after two days of great shooting, particularly over the long ranges on Sunday. Megan has come a long way in the sport in a very short time and will undoubtedly be a force to reckon with going forward. Ivor Davidson’s second place finish in FSA reflected his competitive approach every time he goes to the firing mound.
