Renowned shooter, Parag Patel, of the Great Britain Rifle Team has won the highly successful two-day, eight range Native’s Rifle Club Prize Meeting held over the weekend of October 10th and 11th.
The record field of 231 competitors on Saturday and 230 on Sunday was boosted by a large contingent of international shooters here for an extensive program of teams’ events including the prestigious Australia Match as well as the NRAA individual championships.
Representatives from Canada, Germany, Guernsey, Great Britain, Indonesia, Japan, Kenya, New Zealand, South Africa, USA and Wales joined competitors from the three Australian eastern States.
As could be expected in such a talented field the winning margins in most classes was very small. TR-A, TR-B, FO and Sporter-PCO were each won by only one point while FSA came down to a count-back on super-central bullseyes.
Isaac Brinin was the leading Native’s club member in TR-A finishing 13th (in a field of 155), just five points behind the winner. Lyle Vinter (TR-B) and Keala Muxlow (TR-C) each picked up No.2 badge in their respective grades while Oliver Ploch won No.4 badge in FO. Ricky Chalk was the outstanding performer for the Club winning the Sporter-PCO discipline after only dropping one point over the eight ranges!
Congratulations and a big thank you to all the Natives Club members who contributed to the success of the Prize Meeting. Well done, Natives!
