Natives Rifle Club member, John Stevens, was part of the NRAA F-TR team which won the Trans Tasman Match against New Zealand at Trentham, NZ in January, 2024. Aggregate scores were Australia 2453.107 and NZ 2403.82 with John second top score for Oz with an excellent 256.19 over 800, 900 and 1000 yards.
John started in great form in the warm-up Wellington Rifle Club Prize Meeting finishing 2nd to win the Silver medal.
In the individual NZRA Championships John was 8th in the lead-up match called the Macefield. In the main Championship event, the Ballinger Belt Series, John won the short range Series and finished a very creditable 3rd place in the Belt aggregate and 4th place in the Colonel Collins Grand Aggregate of the Macefield and Belt series. John top scored in the Belt final shoot-off at 900 yards to finish 3rd in the Kings.
