IPSWICH PRIZE MEETING

Natives Rifle Club member, Brian Pickles, won the F-Class Standard B Grade aggregate at the Ipswich Prize Meeting.
Marcia Canty, using her new Barnard and factory ammo came 2nd in B Grade and won the first 600 metre range with an excellent 50.6.

NATIVES CLUB MEMBERS IN THE WINNERS CIRCLE AT WARWICK
Marcia Canty, Brian Pickles and Lyle Vinter were the stand-out performers for the Natives Club at Warwick in the 2 days of Prize Meetings on May 19 & 20, 2012.
Marcia had a clean sweep in C Grade winning the first day aggregate, the second day aggregate and the Two-day Grand Aggregate. In doing so, Marcia well and truly earned her promotion to B Grade.
Lyle won the second day B Grade aggregate with 148.17 and gained his much sort-after goal of promotion to A Grade.
Brian Pickles won the first day aggregate in B Grade, was second to Lyle on day 2 and won the Two-day Grand Aggregate.
NATIVES CLUB MEMBERS IN WINNING QLD LADIES RIFLE TEAM
The Queensland Ladies Rifle Team which included Natives Rifle Club members Wendy Latham (Captain/Shooter) and Carol Solomon (Coach/Shooter) won the President’s match, the Medland match and the Grand Aggregate trophy in the National Ladies Teams Championships held at the Mt Vince Rifle Range in Mackay on May 2 and 3, 2012.
This clean-sweep of trophies repeated the fine performance of the previous Queensland Ladies team in the 2010 Championships held in Sydney.
The Qld team’s score in the Medland match this year of 978.89 was a new record score in this prestigious competition.


QRA TEAM WINS FRASER SHIELD IN MACKAY
Six members of the Natives Rifle Club were in the victorious QRA Team which won the Fraser Shield against the NQRA Team in Mackay on May 6, 2012

WAYNE LATHAM WINS QRA VETERANS CHAMPIONSHIP
Wayne Latham carried forward his winning form from the MDRA Championship to take out the QRA Veteran’s Champion of Champions match at Belmont on Saturday, April 14th shot over 300, 600, 900 and 1000 yards.
Wayne’s score of 196.19 was 6 points ahead of his nearest Veteran competitor and was top score on the range, repeating his similar achievement in the MDRA Championships No wonder he looks pretty happy with himself!

CITY TEAM WINS ANNUAL GRUDGE MATCH AGAINST COUNTRY TEAM
The annual City versus Country teams competition was held on Sunday, Apil 15th and for the second consecutive year it was won by the City team.
Natives Rifle Club was represented in the winning team by Dave Gardiner and Wayne Latham who each coached and shot, and shooters Wendy Latham, Steve Smith and Shaun Connelly.
Due to the threat of rain the match was this year shot entirely at 900 yards consisting of two 10 shot matches and one 15 shot match. The City team won by 6 points.

Wayne Latham wins MDRA Veterans Champion of Champions

The MDRA Champion of Champions was shot in the morning of Saturday, March 17th in overcast, humid conditions with light frontal winds.
Wayne’s winning score of 199.16 was top score on the range and 4 points ahead of the Senior Club Champions.
Wayne will now compete in the QRA Veterans Champion of Champions match to be contested on April 14th.
